The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for next month's bout.
Former twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Attitude
"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Attraction
Still, the novice is still one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
